Freshman Year – Serving with Compassion
Freshmen are introduced to service through a variety of local and global ministries, including:
- Shults-Lewis – A residential home and school serving teens (ages 14–18), responding
with God’s love to strengthen children and families and help them find healing and hope. - The FARM – A mentoring program serving K–12 students who benefit from additional
social, emotional, and spiritual support through Christ-centered relationships. - Every Child Ministries (ECM) – Serving African children and families since 1985 by
meeting physical needs, supporting education, and promoting spiritual growth in the
name of Jesus. - New Leaf Resources – Providing Christian counseling, education, and consultation to
promote healthy relationships and personal growth. - Golden Hope – Supporting families as they walk through grief by offering a safe and
compassionate community. - Phil’s Friends – Offering Christ-centered encouragement and hope to individuals and
families affected by cancer.
This first year helps students understand what it means to serve with empathy and faithfulness.
Sophomore Year – Serving Through Community Engagement
Sophomores deepen their service experience by partnering with:
- Hilltop Christian Camp – Creating an environment where children and adults encounter
God through fellowship, play, Bible study, and worship. - New Song – A residential home and school providing care and education for vulnerable
children. - Love Chapel – A daily food pantry serving families in the Columbus, Indiana area.
These opportunities allow students to see how service strengthens both individuals and
communities.
Junior Year – Serving Through Hands-On Mission Work
Juniors serve with:
- Big Creek Missions – Partnering with churches and organizations in Appalachia to meet
practical needs such as home repairs, children’s programming, food distribution, and teen
outreach, all for the glory of Christ.
This week challenges students to work hard, serve sacrificially, and grow as leaders.
Senior Year – Serving with Global Perspective
Seniors conclude their high school service journey by serving at:
- Mount of Olives Children’s Village (operated by Missions Network International) in
Baja, Mexico – Bringing hope and transformation to children and at-risk families through
relational ministry, education, and community partnership.
This culminating experience encourages students to step into adulthood with a heart for global
mission and lifelong service.
High School Service Week is more than a requirement — it is an opportunity for students to
encounter God at work, build meaningful relationships, and discover the joy of serving others.
Our prayer is that through these experiences, students will grow in maturity, compassion, and a
lifelong commitment to being the hands and feet of Christ.
