DeMotte Christian School is looking for a bookkeeper. This position faithfully and confidentially manages the financial records of the school, including but not limited to: coordinating financial accounting and reporting, qualifying, and making payment of payroll, bills, and taxes in a timely manner. Position is two days per week.
Qualifications:
- Is a Christian who:
- Has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Is able to articulate a Christian statement of faith and purpose for Christian education.
- Subscribes to the purpose and principles listed in Section 2.01 of Article II and the educational philosophy contained in Section 3.01 of Article III of the Bylaws.
- Preference will be given to an active communicant member in good standing of a church which subscribes to the historic Reformed confessions listed in Section 2.01 of Article II of the Bylaws.
- Possesses a strong love for children.
- Agrees to educate his/her current and prospective children in CSI Christian day schools grade 1-12. This requirement may be waived if the child(ren) has special education needs that cannot be provided by a local CSI Christian day school. If the position is part-time, this qualification will be a preference.
- Is able to interact with the constituency (children, parents, grandparents) in a cheerful, sensitive, caring, and tactful manner.
- Has a working knowledge of accounting practices.
- Has strong computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, and bookkeeping programs.
- Possesses strong organizational skills.
- Recognizes the need and is able to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Is a strong team player able to work well with coworkers.
- Agrees to adhere to the Marriage and Sexuality Position Statement.
Responsibilities:
- Manages all incoming receipts and deposits all monies to the school’s bank accounts in a timely manner.
- Qualifies and disburses funds as appropriate for the payment of bills, pension, annuities, taxes, etc.
- Maintains all receipts and disbursements in a computer-based accounting system.
- Prepares and distributes monthly tuition statements.
- Manages other duties and assignments as determined by the Head of School and/or the Board.

The teacher will need to be certified to teach science classes in grades 6-12. The position will involve teaching both middle school and high school sections of science. This is a new position, as Demotte Christian is growing and needs an additional science teacher. DMCS is looking for substitute help at both kitchens. Please fill out the general application form to be placed on the sub list for the kitchen! Please reach out to Mr. Jeremy Boer for Grade School kitchen questions and to Mr. Don Mitchell for MS/HS kitchen questions.
Typically, this would include helping to serve lunch and help clean afterwards. Occasionally, and if you're comfortable in the kitchen, we do need help preparing meals as well.
DeMotte Christian Schools has a great opportunity for anyone interested in driving a bus for our school. DMCS has teamed up with the transportation department from Winamac Community Schools who will provide all necessary paperwork, answer questions, and to serve as a trainer to anyone interested in driving. This would be an excellent way for you to provide a much needed service to our students and families. Bus drivers can help by driving daily routes, taking teams to athletic events, and/or taking classes on field trips.
