ACT

The ACT is an option for a college entrance exam. It costs $46 with no writing and $62.50 with writing to take, and each date has a variety of locations in NWI. It requires that you sign up by a specific date to avoid additional fees.

Juniors should consider taking it by spring/summer.

Seniors need to make it a priority to have a score ready for their college applications by August of their senior year. Keep in mind that many schools are waiving this requirement for acceptance for the 2020-21 school year, but many scholarships are still requiring an SAT or ACT score.
Make sure you include all colleges you’re considering to receive your score report. If you wait past the window to request your scores be sent, you will need to pay for each one!

CCHS hosts the ACT in June of each year. Our 2020 date is Saturday, June 12.

PSAT

In order to help our students prepare to take the SAT college entrance exams, CCHS administers the PSAT every October. The date is set by the state, so keep an eye out on the Knightline and announcements every fall.
The PSAT takes about 3 hours, and we do have slots available each year for homeschool students who need a location to take the test.

Results are typically available mid-December and are placed in students’ files here at CCHS. Parents also receive a copy.

PSAT scores are used in high school to determine if a student is ready to take a Dual Credit course.

PSAT is administered to sophomores and juniors each year. Juniors are eligible for the National Merit Scholarship Program based on their PSAT scores.

CCHS hosted the PSAT for our juniors and seniors and a select number of homeschool students on October 14, 2020.
